life at Hillside Farm where he was a successful and
respected farmer.
Harold married Alma Christine Gullickson, daughter
of Jens Gullickson and Marie Moe 29 Sep., 1916.
Alma was born 8 Sep., 1893 in Granite Falls,
Chippewa County, MN. She died 22 Apr., 1974 in
Granite Falls, Chippewa County, MN. She was
buried in Granite Falls, MN.

Second Generation


2.        Samuel Dearborn Morrill was born 16 Aug
1865 in Loudon, Merrimack, N.H., USA. He died
27 Jan 1908 in Granite Falls, MN. He married Bertha
Alma Wylie 26 Jun 1890.
Samuel built the family homestead near Granite Falls,
Mn. known as Hilltop Farm.  It was built using bricks
that had originally been made for a fort at Upper
Sioux Agency.  They were hauled by oxcart to the
location north of Granite Falls.


3.        Bertha Alma Wylie was born 1 Aug 1866 in
Diamond Bluff, Pierce, WI. She died 28 Jul 1943 in
Livingston Park, Montana, USA.

Third Generation

4.        Samuel Morrill was born 3 Dec 1827 in
Chichester, NH. He died 21 Mar 1864 in Loudon,
Merrimack, N.H., USA. He married Hannah E.
Chase.

5.        Hannah E. Chasewas born 3 Oct 1832 in
Loudon, Merrimack, N.H., USA. She died 13 Sep
1909 in Granite Falls, MN.


6.        Ezra Wyliewas born 1826 in NY. He died
1896. He married Betsey Lette DeMerit probably
1852.


7.        Betsey Lette DeMeritwas born 5 Feb
1835/1836 in Vermont. She died 23 or 25 Dec.
1922 in Mpls., Hennepin Co, MN. She was buried in
Granite Falls, MN.


Betsy made a beautiful log cabin quilt in 1911 which
was passed down to Gay Gillespie and then to her
daughter Mary.  It is currently at
Holt House.
Betsy was much loved by her family members and is
buried with "Grandma" as her name on her
tombstone in the Granite Falls City Cemeter

Fourth Generation

8.        John W Morrill was born123 Jan 1791 in
Warner, NH. He died 1863. He married Olive Paige.


His birth is recorded in the NH vital records


9.        Olive Paige was born Abt 1792 in New
Hampshire. She died in New Hampshire.


10.        Dr. Ira Allen Chasewas born 22 Jan 1804 in
Loudon, Merrimack, N.H., USA. He died 25 Apr
1853 in Loudon, Merrimack County, New
Hampshire. He married Hannah Cate 10 Jan 1827 in
Loudon, Merrimack, N.H., USA.


Most of their children settled in Ohio, Illinois and
Iowa.  One son brought a large family of children to
Sherman Co, Neb from Clayton Co., Iowa.
from Bob Chase - _The 1830 Census lists the Ira
Chase family with 1 male and 1 female under _five
years of age; and 1 male and 1 female between the
ages of twenty and _thirty years old. __The
1840 Census indicates that the Ira Chase family
consisted of 3 males _under 5 years of age, there is
one male and 2 females between 5 & 10 years of
_age there is 1 male between the age of 10 & 15
years of age, and there is one _male and one female
between the age of 30 and 40. The 1830 and the
1840 _Census do not indicate any names other than
the head of household.__The 1850 Census lists
Ira and Hannah as living in Loudon New Hampshire.
_Living with them were Rebecca A. Chase age16,
Ira A. Chase (Jr.) age 14, John _C. Chase age 6, and
Redford M. Chase age 2. There is another Chase -
Hiram _Chase age 17 living with a Levi Perkins in
Loudon. Hiram's profession is _listed as a mason.


11.        Hannah Cate was born 1 Apr 1807 in
Loudon, Merrimack, N.H., USA. She died 25 Dec
1850 in Loudon, Merrimack County, New
Hampshire.

Loudon, Merrimack, N.H., USA. He died  1840 or
1842,  in Loudon, Merrimack, N.H., USA. He
married1Rebecca Chamberlain 1805.


He was a farmer and innkeeper.  Shadrach Cate
served as selectman in Loudon and was known as
Captain.  He died before 1847 at whcih time his
widow Rebecca was living at Loudon with her son

23.        Rebecca Chamberlainwas born 15 Mar
1784.


She had a family of 11 children, 8 who survived to
adulthood.

Sixth Generation

40.        James Chasewas born 6 Mar 1751 in
Newbury, Essex, Mass., USA. He married Elizabeth
Haselton 15 Oct 1772 in Haverhill, Mass..


In 1777 or 1778 he moved to Atkinson, NH and
between 1781 and 1783 he settled at Loudon, NH
where he was still living in 1804.  He was evidently
the James Chase who was a member of Capt
timothy Eaton's Company of Minute Men who
marched on the alarm of Aptil 19, 1775.  Apparently
he
was the James Chasse who received travel allowance
from Ticonderoga in 1776 as a member of Timoth
Eaton's Company.

44.        Stephen Catewas born Abt 1748. He
married1,2Anna Griffin 30 Mar 1777 in Deerfield,
NH.


He came from Deerfield, NH in 1785. He settled
upon a farm later owned (1885) by W. Cate, where
he
built a log house for himself and family of two
children, the eldest being two and a half years and the
youngest but 18 months.  He rode from Deerfield,
NH, on horseback with his wife, eathc carrying one
of the children in their arms as they rode upon the
same horse.  The following year Mrs.Cate, whose
name was Anna, gave birth to the twins, Stephen and
Jonathan, whose weight at birth was 22 pounds.
!Early in 1784, he removed to Loudon, he and his
wife eaching riding on horseback.  His farm was still
in possession of the family in 1885.  He was one of
those who signed a petition which opposed being

Thompson research has her as Abigail Neal.


46.        Moses Chamberlain was born34 Oct 1757
in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. He died 21 Oct 1811.
He was buried in Loudon, Merrimack County, New
Hampshire. He married Rebecca Abbott 9 Oct 1781.


Moses Chamberlain moved to New Hampshire with
his father's family where he served as a soldier in
the Revolution.  He married, october 9, 1781,
Rebecca Abbot, a woman of outstanding character.  
he
was one of the wealthiest men at Loudon.  Besides
owning a large farm he built and operated the
Loudon Mills, which included a saw mill, a grist mill,
an oil mill, and a carding, fulling and dressing mill.  
In 1798 he served as selectman of the town and in
later life he wa known as Captain Moses
Chamberlain.


47.        Rebecca Abbott was born Abt 1760. She
died 24 Dec 1846.


She was a woman of outstanding character.



Seventh Generation

80.        Captain James Chase was born114 Aug
1709 in Newbury, Massachusetts. He died Bef 6
May 1802 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. He married
Abigail Bailey.


He moved to Haverhill between 1762 and 1764
where he served on town committees during the
Revolution.  In later life he was called Capt James
Chase.

JAMES4 CHASE (James3, Thomas2, Aquila1) was
born at Newbury, Massachusetts, August 14, 1709,
and died at Haverhill in 1801 or 1802. He married,
first, September 18, 1739, Hannah, daughter of
John and Prudence (Merrill) Bartlett, born April 24,
1718, Amesbury. He married, secondly, March 25,
1746, Abigail, daughter of John and Sarah (Butler)
Bailey, born January 14, 1724/5. After her death,
April 1, 1785, he married, thirdly, August 23, 1785,
Mrs. Mehitabel Emerson, probably Mehitabel
Haseltine, widow of Joseph Emerson. He moved to
Haverhill between 1762 and 1764, where he served
on town committees during the Revolution. In later life
he was called Capt. James Chase.(h)

92.        Samuel Chamberlain was christened 7 Jun
1724 in Chelsea, Massachusetts. He married Martha
Mellen 2 Mar 1748/1749.


Samuel Chamberlain and his brother John acquired a
tract of six hundred acres a few miles east of
Concord, NH and in 1774 he removed thither with
his family settlein in the newly organized town of
Loudon. ! In 1776 he was one of the selectmen of the
town.  In this position he was one of the men
called upon to obtain signatures to the Association
Test ordered by the Continental Congress in 1776.
He was elected to the first state legislature to
represent Loudon and Canterbury.  In 1791 the
boundaries between Loudon and Concord were
changed so that Samuel Chamberlain, his son Samuel
and his brother Abel were set off into the town of
Concord.  In 1797 he removed to Peacham, VT
where he died in 1802.


93.        Martha Mellen was born Abt 1730. She
died 14 Nov 1820.

160.        James Chasewas born 15 Sep 1685 in
Newbury, Massachusetts. He died 1753. He married

3. JAMES3 CHASE (Thomas2, Aquila1) was born
at Newbury, Massachusetts, September 15, 1685,
and
died in June or July 1753. He married, first, about
1706, Lydia, daughter of John Johnson of Haverhill,
who died August 2, 1707. He married, secondly,
December 17, 1707, Martha, twin daughter of the
unfortunate Ezra Rolfe of Haverhill. It is said that she,
a mere baby, was scalped by the Indians in the
Haverhill massacre, October, 1689, at the time her
father lost his life. After her death, he married,
thirdly, May 21, 1739, Elizabeth Peterson. He was a
farmer.(g)

Norfolk, England. He died 1732 in Greenland,
Rockingham Co.,NH.He was married25 Nov 1715.


184.        Jacob Chamberlainwas born Abt 1691. He
died 15 Sep 1734 in Rumney Marsh, Massachusetts.
He married Abigail Hasey.


Jacob Chamberlain was born about 1691, but where
he was born or who his parents were has never
been discovered.  Some genealogists believe he was
an immigrant, others that he was a grandson of
Edmund Chamberlain of Roxbury.  He was living at
Roxbury where he married, Jan 12, 1713/14.  He
moved to Rumney Marsh, some time after January
1717/18.  Jacop Chamberlain was a cordwainer or
worker in leather good. in 1730 he bought a small
farm.


185.        Abigail Haseywas christened 20 Oct 1695.
She died 1793 in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.


as administratrix of her husband's estate, she sold the
farm and moved to Hopkinton with her family of
ten children, the youngest born three weeks after her
husband's death.  She did not remarry as was
customary at that time.  She is doubtless the Mrs.
Chamberlain who died at Hopkinton, April 1793, the
oldest person in the town above 95.

Newbury, Massachusetts. He married Rebecca
Follannbee 22 Nov 1677.


THOMAS2 CHASE (Aquila1) was born at
Newbury, Massachusetts, July 25, 1654, and was
sixteen years
old when his father died. In 1675 he served in King
Philip's War in Capt. Samuel Appleton's Company
and took part in the Great Swamp Fight. He was a
carpenter and lived near the road leading to the
Amesbury ferry. Thomas Chase married first,
November 22, 1677, Rebecca, daughter of Thomas
and
Mary Follansbee, born about 1660. She died
December 27, 1711. He married, secondly, August
2, 1714,
Elizabeth Moores, probably a widow, who survived
him. He died at Newbury, Febraury (sic) 25, 1733
,

thirdly, May 21, 1739, Elizabeth Peterson. He was a

56.        Jacob Chamberlain was born Abt 1691. He
died 15 Sep 1734 in Rumney Marsh, Massachusetts.
He married Abigail Hasey.


Jacob Chamberlain was born about 1691, but where
he was born or who his parents were has never
been discovered.  Some genealogists believe he was
an immigrant, others that he was a grandson of
Edmund Chamberlain of Roxbury.  He was living at
Roxbury where he married, Jan 12, 1713/14.  He
moved to Rumney Marsh, some time after January
1717/18.  Jacop Chamberlain was a cordwainer or
worker in leather good. in 1730 he bought a small
farm.


57.        Abigail Hasey was christened 20 Oct 1695.
She died 1793 in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.


As administratrix of her husband's estate, she sold the
farm and moved to Hopkinton with her family of
ten children, the youngest born three weeks after her
husband's death.  She did not remarry as was
customary at that time.  She is doubtless the Mrs.
Chamberlain who died at Hopkinton, April 1793, the
oldest person in the town above 95.

64.        Thomas Chase was born 25 Jul 1654 in
Newbury, Massachusetts. He died 25 Feb 1733 in
Newbury, Massachusetts. He married Rebecca
Follannbee 22 Nov 1677.


THOMAS2 CHASE (Aquila1) was born at
Newbury, Massachusetts, July 25, 1654, and was
sixteen years
old when his father died. In 1675 he served in King
Philip's War in Capt. Samuel Appleton's Company
and took part in the Great Swamp Fight. He was a
carpenter and lived near the road leading to the
Amesbury ferry. Thomas Chase married first,
November 22, 1677, Rebecca, daughter of Thomas
and
Mary Follansbee, born about 1660. She died
December 27, 1711. He married, secondly, August 2,
1714,
Elizabeth Moores, probably a widow, who surveved
him. He died at Newbury, Febraury (sic) 25, 1733
(f),
