| The Granite Falls Historical Society is working to preserve the footbridge located downtown across the Minnesota River. We are working to get it listed on the national historic register and raising funds for it's repair and preservation. The bridge was designed by Roebling and Sons Company who also designed and built the Golden Gate Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge. It was built in the spring of 1935, replacing the previous wooden bridge. If you have any first hand information relating to the bridge construction, please e-mail us at gfhsociety@netscape.net |
